Dr. Davide Zaru
Dr. Davide Zaru is associate political affairs officer at the UN Office on the Prevention of Genocide and the Responsibility to Protect. Between 2007 and 2012, he worked as policy officer with the human rights department of the European Commission/EEAS. In 2012 and 2013 he was posted as programme manager for governance and justice to the EU Delegation to Eritrea. Previously, he collaborated with OHCHR, the Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs and the International League for the Rights and Liberation of People. In 2011, he defended in Padova his PhD thesis in Public International Law, following research in Geneva, The Hague, Fiesole and Heidelberg. Dr. Zaru published on topics related to EU external relations law and joined in 2013 the Faculty of the School of European Legal and Social Studies, a joint post-graduate programme of the Catholic University of Leuven and of the University of Padova.
