Dominik Hofmarcher, Ph.D.

Is counsel / attorney at law in the Vienna office of Schoenherr Attorneys at Law, specializing in ip, unfair competition/advertising and personality rights. A specific focus is on copyright and the protection of trade secrets. He represents national and international clients in court proceedings as well as in contentious and non-contentious matters out of court.
Dominik graduated from Vienna University (Master´s degree in 2009, PhD degree in 2013 with his thesis on the topic of "Personality Merchandising"). He regularly publishes in law journals, and contributed to Austria´s standard commentaries Kucsko/Schumacher (ed.), marken.schutz² (2013) and Kucsko/Handig (ed.), urheber.recht² (2017). His monography on the new trade secrets protection will be published early 2020. Furthermore, Dominik provides professional training courses for attorneys (AWAK) and teaches IP law at the University of Vienna and the Danube University Krems. He is a member of INTA´s Non-Traditional Marks Committee and a member of ALAI (Association Littéraire et Artistique Internationale.
