Dren Doli

Dren Doli is a Senior Research Fellow at the Group for Legal and Political Studies, having served earlier as a Senior Legal Executive for Integration to the Kosovo Prime Minister's Office. Dren holds an LLB degree from the University of Prishtina, an LLM from the University of Hamburg, and is currently reading the PhD in Law at the University of Hamburg. His main research interests include the international state-building strategies for Kosovo and the problems of managing the emergence of statehood. Of late, he has specialized in the criteria for both statehood and stateness under public international law, paying special attention to the latest ICJ Advisory Opinion on Kosovo. He has published a number of articles in international peer-reviewed journals and serves as a country-reporter for Albania for the Oxford International Law Reports (ILDC section). He has been involved in several international projects aimed at supporting and constructing many of the most significant constitutional segments of post-independence Kosovo.
