Gary White, BSc

Is a former senior police officer from Northern Ireland. Mr. White has over 30 years significant experience in policing protests and assemblies. He was a leading figure in rewriting the UK National Public Order Doctrine – Keeping the Peace and regularly lectured on UK Police Command Courses. Mr. White has worked on international police reform and development work across the world. He lead a project to introduce ‘Progressive Public Order Policing’ in Bolivia on behalf of the UK Government, he has also worked in Central Asia, Eastern Europe, Middle East and in various African states. He is a senior policing advisor to the International NGO Saferworld and has worked with both Amnesty International and the Humanitarian Dialogue Centre Geneva. Mr. White was engaged by the South African Human Rights Commission to provide expert evidence at the Marikana Commission of Inquiry. Mr. White holds a BSc (Hons) in Politics and Criminology and in 2103 was awarded an MBE for his services to ‘policing and to the community in Northern Ireland’.
