Jovana Vujanović

After having completed her Bachelor of Environmental Studies, Honours Environmental Politics at York University in Toronto, Jovana was accepted into the Master of Arts in Human Rights in Vienna. During her studies she interned at the UNHCR Liaison Office and the International Press Institute, both located in the city. These internships focused her interest in the intersection between media, communication and human rights. After graduating from the Masters, Jovana first at the European Parliament in Brussels, where I sat in two committees; Civil liberties, Justice and Home Affairs, as well as the newly developed Special Committee on Terrorism. In 2018, she moved back to her city of birth, Belgrade where she worked at the OSCE Mission to Serbia on a youth centred project focusing on combatting violent extremism and radicalisation that lead to terrorism. She is currently based in Strasbourg, France and work as an Election Observation Officer for the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities in the Council of Europe. She is predominantly responsible for the Balkans, with special emphasis on the city of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where they have not held local elections in over a decade.
