Morten Kjaerum, LL.M.

Adj. Professor. Since April 2015, Morten Kjærum is the Director of the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI) in Sweden. Before joining RWI, he was the first director of the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights in Vienna, where he worked for seven years. From 1991 to 2008 he held the position as Executive Director at the Danish Institute for Human Rights. He was member of the UN Committee on Elimination of Racial Discrimination from 2002 to 2008. Currently, he serves as Chair of the Board of the European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) and he chairs the Board of Trustees for the UN Voluntary Fund for Technical Cooperation in the field of Human Rights appointed by the UN Secretary General. Morten Kjærum has written extensively on human rights issues.
