Georges Younes, BA, MSc

Since the appointment of Manfred Nowak as UN Independent Expert, Georges has been involved with the UN Global Study on Children Deprived of Liberty as research coordinator. Next to his involvement at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights, Georges is the Program Manager of the international and inter-disciplinary Master programme in Human Rights at the University of Vienna. Before joining the University of Vienna, Georges was engaged in advocacy-work for cases of human rights violations in the Middle East. Prior to this, he was working for Amnesty International in London and Vienna. His most recent position at Amnesty International was that of Director of the Amnesty Academy. Georges holds a Master degree in Conflict Studies from the London School of Economics, specializing in the role of Education in Peace Processes.
