Irina Urumova, LL.M.

Irina Urumova, LL.M. (University of Connecticut School of Law) is a rule of law and justice expert. Her past track record encompasses work with the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (most recently as a Human Rights Adviser and earlier as a Rule of Law Officer and Legal Expert) and consulting experience for a range of international organizations. As of January 2015, she is a long-term international expert with the UNICEF-EU Programme on Justice for Children in Kazakhstan. She is also collaborating with the University of Coimbra (Portugal) on a major publication on trafficking in human beings. Irina Urumova's research interests primarily lie with criminal justice, justice for children, anti-trafficking and victimization. She is currently working towards her PhD at the intersection of law and victimology, focusing on trafficking in children.
